Manila, Philippines, September 07, 2017 — Global enterprise technology solutions leader Exist Software Labs, Inc. is set to formally introduce Medcurial, its integrated healthcare solutions portfolio at the Indonesian Digital Healthcare Summit on September 13-14 at Solo, Indonesia.
Considered as a technology frontier in Asia for healthcare due to its sizeable population and rising economy, the Digital Healthcare Summit brings together Indonesia’s 200 plus leading physicians and hospital executives for a two-day event that features multiple expert talks on the role of IT in hospital transformation and improving patient outcomes.
“Every company dreams of expanding its market across its borders”, admits Michael Lim, CEO of Exist. “Since we implemented a retail solution for a big retail chain in Jakarta back in 2013, we’ve been actively looking for opportunities where we could also offer Medcurial seeing the similarities between our two countries’ healthcare system.“
With its integrated healthcare systems, Medcurial helps lay the foundation for hospitals to achieve quality outcomes that go beyond traditional billing and operational needs. This technology, focusing on clinical systems which provide physicians with digital tools to manage patient medical information and related data is vital towards reducing medical errors and improving treatment efficiencies.
“Over the years we’ve spoken with doctors, hospital medical directors and CIOs and we’ve always carried the same message — that Medcurial is committed to create technology that leads to better patient care”, adds Willex Perez, VP for Healthcare Solutions. “Hospitals need more systems that lead doctors and patients to better care decisions and less of billing and charging.”
Exist contributes to improving healthcare through Medcurial which offers a next generation, fully-integrated hospital and clinical informations system and a web-based practice management and electronic medical records system used by select top Philippine hospitals including St. Luke’s Medical Center in Bonifacio Global City.
“We’ve preached about implementing technology in relation to both business value and profitability when we speak with clients”, says Mr. Lim. “Healthcare, however, poses another level of challenge for us because of the inherent problems of fragmentation and disparate care that even governments find difficult to solve. Luckily, we’ve been exposed to other industries and we feel confident there are IT tools that would be applicable to improving healthcare, too”.
“Hospitals will often advertise that they are patient-centric but we know that this is hardly the case because patients are burdened with coordinating treatment between doctors, clinics and/or hospitals”, Mr. Perez further explains. “We need healthcare leaders to commit to a mindset to better manage patient data because it holds the key that unlocks a connected healthcare ecosystem to which all stakeholder services can revolve around.”
“Unless your current system supports this model, being patient-centric remains just an advertising byline where successful medical treatments are highly dependent on doctor’s skill or luck and that,” Willex emphasizes, “is not just unfortunate but also unsustainable.”
The Indonesian Digital Healthcare Summit happens on September 13-14, 2017 at the Alana Hotel and Convention Center in Solo, Indonesia.
