Dubbed Exist Code Camp, the training is open to fresh graduates of IT related courses
April 2006, Manila, Philippines – Exist, a global leader in open source technology launched Exist Code Camp (ECC). ECC is an intensive 6-week training camp designed for fresh graduates. This program provides training on the fundamentals of open source technologies. The camp aims to develop the skills of talented fresh graduates in the field of Open Source, specifically in Java.
The first batch of ECC qualifiers consisted of graduates from De La Salle University (DLSU), University of the Philippines Los Banos (UPLB), Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM), Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) and Lyceum University of the Philippines. ECC will have three batches. Every batch will have 12 participants who will be divided into groups. This method will prepare the trainees to work within a team-enabled environment, which is prevalent in most software development institutions. The best team will win a trip to Hong Kong Disneyland inclusive of pocket money and will get the chance to join Exist’s engineering team.
“Our mission at Exist is to seek out, nurture and develop the best software engineering minds in the country. ECC allows us to accelerate the expansion of our world-class engineering team,” said Exist’s Chairman Winston Damarillo.
The second batch of ECC will start on June 13, 2006.
