Have you seen the new video for JavaZone yet? Just recently, the full trailer of the upcoming JavaZone 2013 conference has been released.
JavaZone is Scandinavia’s biggest annual gathering of software developers, and one of Europe’s most important developer conferences. The Java conference, which will be held in Oslo, Norway from September 11 to 12 has an estimated attendance of over 2,000 participants, and has more than one hundred sessions and workshops. This year’s topics include: Alternative languages, Architecture, Big Data and NoSQL, Continuous Delivery, Core Java, Craftsmanship, Enterprise, Experience Report, Frontend, Functional Programming, Mobile, Research and Trends, Security, Startups, and much more.
JavaZone got more popular for their cool promotional videos every year. This year, they went for a controversial approach with ‘Javapocalpyse’. A doomsday, apocalyptic type of movie, the video presents a view of the world without Java. From the rising suspense to breaking the tension with a humorous scene (putting practical jokes on the characters - right Mr. President), to heart-pounding background music that never fails, and killer lines (like ”He’s the Javatar”), and I’m sold.
While some may disagree with the story, I think the video served its purpose well — creating noise for the JavaZone event. Check out the short film and let me know your thoughts.
