Hiring Java developers Ruby on Rails developers Philippines Manila Cebu

Exist just hosted another successful Philippine Ruby Users Group (PhRUG) meetup last night. We had a great turnout with over 30 in attendance, including our Rails developers.

During the meetup, our very own Senior Rails Developer, Richard Gonzales, talked about API-Centric Rails Web Apps and Hybrid Mobile App Integration.

Some notes on his presentation:

Last month, the Business Insider published a great list of the Next 25 Big Enterprise Startups. The list is based on the informal survey they conducted to some of the top enterprise VCs. They asked for the hottest enterprise startups that venture capitals are most excited about.

Let's focus around 2012.

In the US, Ruby on Rails developers' average salary is $69,000. If you tweak the search to Ruby on Rails engineers, the value is $110,000. Average Ruby on Rails developer salaries can vary greatly due to company, location, industry, experience and benefits. And I guess by job title. [Simplyhired]

"80-90% of the end-user response time is spent on the front-end. Start there."

Inspired by the book High Performance Web Sites by Steve Souders, Richard Gonzales, one of our Senior Ruby on Rails developers, gave a lightning talk on 14 principles of building high performance web sites and how to implement them using Rails in one of our recent internal Rails Meetup.

Exist supported the Red Dot Ruby Conference for the second year in a row, and this time our Ruby on Rails developers, Nelvin Driz and Gillian Dugay represented us in the event last May 18-19.

Ruby on Rails has taken the web development world by storm since its first full release in 2005. Yet with new web platforms arriving each day, usage share of frameworks has become quite fragmented. So in this post, I compiled the latest trends and figures of Ruby on Rails from different sources, as well as some stats of the Ruby language.

Often you evaluate the success of a web framework based on the popular websites/apps that the framework built. Ruby on Rails has proven itself already as a highly-productive and industrial-strength web application framework through the numerous applications developed through it.

Ruby on Rails has emerged as one of the hottest technologies for quite a few years now.

Exist Cebu Ruby on Rails (RoR) team conducted a "Node.js session" last week. It was an informal discussion sought to explore new technologies that may help developers in building web applications. In the particular Node.js session, the team wanted to introduce Node.js and show its efficiency on dealing with highly concurrent web applications using event loop instead of multi-threading. Lastly, the group also aims to nurture a culture of sharing.

I was fortunate enough to interview Luis Buenaventura, social architect and founding partner of an internet startup called Infinite.ly.
