DevCon Game Development Camp 2011 in Cebu
The DevCon Game Development Camp, our free code camp in partnership with the International Game Developers Association – Manila Chapter (IGDA Manila), was held last 02-03 September 2011 at the TechBar in i1 Bldg, Asiatown IT Park, Cebu City.

This event was tailor-made for programmers who wanted to try their hands on game projects – both beginners and those who have attempted to learn it in the past but had no sufficient support and mentoring. More than 20 attended, mostly students from the University of San Carlos (Talamban Campus).
By the end of Day 2, the participants were able to make their own running game, thanks to our passionate speakers: IGDA's Marnielle and Jonathan. Marnielle Lloyd Estrada is a video game programmer at Anino Games while Jonathan Rey Cortes is a game developer at Inkstone.
The partners of Developers Connect Philippines (DevCon) for the said event are the Philippine Development Foundation (PhilDev – formerly Ayala Foundation USA), IBM Philippines, Morphlabs, Inc, and Exist Software Labs, Inc. and International Game Developers Association – Manila Chapter (IGDA Manila).
We are also having a “Game Development Primer” with IGDA via the DevCon at the University of St. La Salle in Bacolod City on 19 September 2011. May the local game development community thrive!
